A woman called Agnes in an interview shares what she went through after she went to work with her sister. According to the woman, she was having one child before she travel to Accra to work with her sister. Months later she met a man known as Samuel at her sister’s workplace. The man propose to her and she too accepted to be in a relationship with him.
The woman said she told Samuel that she has one child and again asked him to meet her sister first which he did. Years later she had issues with her sister and she was sacked from her sister’s house. Agnes said she was not having any place to stay. She pleaded with her friend to let her stay with them. The friend gave her the chance to stay with them.
Within some months, she conceived but she informed her boyfriend that she wants to abort her the baby but he advised her not to do the abortion, he even promises to take care of her but he didn’t fulfill his promise. She decided to go and stay with Samuel so that he will cater for her but he told her that he is staying with another woman. Agnes went to his house one day for money but he beats her to pop.
Samuel later told that lady he was staying with to go back to her parents. He then allowed Agnes to stay with him but still, he continued to beat her. One day Samuel told her that his rent is due so she should go back to her family whilst he will go to stay with him. The woman continued that she was not having money on her at that time, and her boyfriend too didn’t give her money to take care of herself when she gets back to Kumasi. The following day the man packed his belongings and left her in the room alone.
Samuel came back to the house one night, and forced her to sleep with him and gave her GHC40 before he left. Two weeks after she gave birth, Samuel came to visit her but he gave her only GHC50. The woman said she was able to know where her boyfriend was staying. She went to sleep with him one day but another lady came to visit him at dawn, she then informed that lady that she is Samuel is her boyfriend, this made him furious, beats her and sacked her. Since that day she didn’t go to his place again but she started selling at the market to take care of her children.
