Transfer News: Ghanaian Players Updates -Afena Gyan to Leave AS Roma, Ayew Contract Extended

With the Summer Transfer Window approaching and most of the European Leagues on break, several clubs now have the opportunity to bring in additional players to provide competition for the existing squad, likewise sell also and on such note here are transfer updates on Ghana players.

Felix Afena-Gyan

Limited playing time with AS Roma, the teen sensation is set to join newly-promoted Serie A side – Lecce, on a seasonal loan deal to gain experience and confidence ahead of the World Cup. Graduated from AS Roma Academy in 2021, the 19-year-old made 20 appearances in all competitions – finding the target twice in the just-ended season.

Jordan Ayew

As part of the club’s agenda of retaining the experienced players ahead of the new season, the Ghanaian forward is reportedly to be among the four players whose contracts have been extended by the Crystal Palace for another year. Ayew, 30 ended the season with 3 goals and 3 assists in 31 league appearances.

Abdul Mumin

Rocked Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes defence in 26 outings last season, the 24-year-old could leave this summer for Turkey as Fenerbache are keen on signing him. Yet to make a cap for the national team, the center-back guided his club to the Europa Conference League group stage next season – finishing 6th. Per market value, he will cost the Turkish outfit close to €3.5-4M.

Kevin-Prince Boateng

Played a crucial role in Hertha Berlin SC’s survival in Bundesliga relegation playoffs against Hamburg, the 35-year-old is considered a key member of the squad and has been rewarded with a contract extension. The 15-capped star made 18 appearances last season in the Bundesliga.

Jewel Scott

The promising young talented Ghanaian midfielder in the Bayern Munich youth team has reportedly been scouted by several clubs who are keen on assuring him playing time and a permanent deal as his contract is set to expire in the summer. Keen on holding to the 20-year-old at all costs, Bayern is believed to be in talks to extend his contract and loaning him afterward. Bundesliga II outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf are among the interesting clubs as well as Austria outfit Klagenfurt and Scottish champions Celtic.
