Okrah and Danlad rejects Black Stars invite for Kirin Cup tournament.

Locally based players Augustine Okrah and Ibrahim Danlad have reportedly rejected the invitation to join the senior national team for the invitational Kirin Cup tournament in Japan. Okrah was drafted into the initial 33 man squad together with Afriyie Barnieh before both were removed before the clash against CAR. Danlad was also later invited after Richard Ofori got injured and had to be sent back to his team Orlando Pirates for treatment.

There are conflicting reports regarding the reasons they rejected the call-up. According to reports, Danlad rejected the call up because his club will be short of goalkeepers. Kwame Baah will be the only keeper remaining if he leaves and should something happen the club will be in dire need. Okrah on the other hand rejected the call-up because he was injured in their game against Aduana Stars. He didn’t want to report to camp half-fit. He would prefer to be fully fit. He has since communicated to the team handlers his reason for not honouring the invitation.

If only what he is saying is true, I do understand him perfectly. It makes sense a lot.
