The Paramount Chief of the Asogli Traditional Area and a part owner of Accra Hearts of Oak football club as well as a Council of State member has done the unthinkable which got Ghanaians talking.
It has been reported that the Council of State members have received an amount of Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Ghana Cedis (¢360k) as an Ex-Gratia for their three(3) year services to the state.
Torgbe Afede after receiving the reported amount decided to investigate and really it was from the Council of State Secretariat and after consultations and considerations, Togbe Afede has decided to refund the Ex-Gratia because he found it uncomfortable.
Torgbe Afede says he prefers instead of paying huge Ex-Gratia to people who could afford enough be offered to serve the poor people in our country.
Some Ghanaians have been reacting to the development as some hail him for his actions while others criticize the government for unprecedented Ex-Gratia.
