Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission and a member of the New Patriotic Party – NPP, has died. He once labeled former Ghanaian President John Mahama a thief. Will Kissi Agyebeng simply freeze the assets of deceased corrupt politicians rather than those who are still alive? Special Prosecutor does his job well, he will find living corrupt politicians rather than those who have died.
After Sir John’s infinite call to rest, his will, which included a list of properties shared among his family, revealed not only how corrupt and untrustworthy he was, but also that politics is a game in which if you enter, you will be wealthy enough to satisfy everyone close to you in a short period of time.
Kissi Agyebeng, like the one who selected him, is corrupt. He came to the NPP administration to defend and encourage corruption, thus freezing the assets of a corrupt dead politician does not make him wonderful, but rather inept.
Kissi Agyebeng, the new Special Prosecutor who replaced Martin Amidu, believes it is vital to freeze the assets of the late former New Patriotic Party General Secretary after the dispute surrounding his will went viral on social media. After several people objected to Kissi Agyebeng’s appointment, Ken Agyapong, an NPP MP who represents Assin Central in parliament, and Martin Amidu, the former Special Prosecutor, the desperate Akufo Addo officially nominated him on August 5, 2021.
I wrote an article asking Kissi Agyebeng what he would do if Martin Amidu could no longer bear the president’s interference in his ability to execute his job the way he wanted, resulting in his resignation. Despite the rise in corruption inside the NPP government, Agyebeng has yet to investigate or charge any politician in the country with corruption.
This caused me to write on February 11, 2022, inquiring if “The New Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, Is He Dead Or Alive?-ModernGhana reference” was dead or alive. That was after he stated that the financial allotment for his office in 2022 was insufficient. His request was approved by President Nana Akufo Addo, and more money was sent to the Special Prosecutor’s office to help him in his task.
When the biggest corruption scandal hit Eugene Arhin, the president’s Director of Communication, under Kissi Agyebeng’s administration, the Special Prosecutor failed to investigate him, despite the money he had gained in the shortest time since entering politics.
Another corruption incident hit Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, involving a $5 million bribe, while he was in office. Kissi Agyebeng feigned to be dead like he often did, and the case vanished into thin air without being investigated.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, another corruption story breaks out, this time involving a Ghanaian journalist named Paul Adom-Otchere and an overcharge for a typical Christmas tree at the Kotoka International Airport. Kissy Agyebeng was nowhere near the investigation.
Corruption scandals continue to surface in the NPP government, Ken Agyapong’s claim on social media that a specific amount was placed into his ex-wife’s account in America. This is a man who aspires to be Ghana’s president; heaven must be short on angels.
According to the World Bank Director for Ghana, the NPP government received $435 million to combat the COVID crisis, but the Akufo Addo-led government only gave Ghanaians $100 million. Why did Kissi Agyebeng fail to examine where the $335 million went?
Kissi Agyebeng could not prosecute Akufo Addo, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, Eugene Arhin, Paul Adom-Otchere, and many others involved in corruption in the NPP government because they are living human beings, but he is ready to freeze a dead man’s will for his ill-gotten fortune.
I’m curious as to why Kissi Agyebeng was unable to prosecute living corrupt politicians and media, but only the dead. Is the Special Prosecutor more terrified of living people than of dead people? It seems he is because the dead cannot be more dangerous than the living, I am unimpressed by Sir John’s assets being seized.
Kissi Agyebeng has used his advantage over the dead to give the idea that he is efficient, but I need to ask him if he is doing a good job, why he couldn’t notice Sir John’s accumulated fortune when he was alive? As a result, I’m afraid I don’t have any faith or trust in you, Kissi Agyebeng, because you, like your appointer, are both corrupt.
