Asante Kotoko win in Accra as they retain their lead at the top of the GPL after winning the title

Asante Kotoko continued with their recent good form as they defeated Accra Great Olympics 1-0 in one of seven Ghana Premier League, GPL matches played this afternoon.

Also in these GPL Matchday 32 fixtures, Dreams FC, Bechem United, Medeama SC, Karela United and WAFA, all recorded wins on Sunday.

Kotoko’s Cameroonian striker Frank Etouga Mbella scored the lone goal for the side as they posted their 18th win of the campaign after 32 matches.

He takes his goals tally to 21 as he leads the standing in the scorers chat although the Cameroonian will miss Kotoko’s next game due to accumulated yellow cards.

The Porcupines won the championship last Thursday after their drawn game with AshantiGold SC and, they carried this into this game as they posted this away victory.

Dreams FC revived their hopes of avoiding the drop with an important 1-0 home win over AshantiGold SC at the Dawu Park on the Akwapem Ridge.

Karela United thumped Real Tamale United, RTU 5-1 at home in a game played at the Crossby Awuah Memorial, (CAM) Park to keep their hopes of finishing in the top-four alive.

Bechem United kept second spot with a slim 1-0 home win over Aduana FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Medeama SC were 3-1 winners over relegated Elmina Sharks in an away game played at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina.

WAFA revived their hopes of avoiding the drop with an important 4-3 away win over Gold Stars at Bibiani.

Legon Cities played out a goalless drawn game with Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, Techiman to leave the home side in the bottom three on the table.

The final game of the Matchday 32 fixtures will be played later this evening when king Faisal Babes hosts Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
