Air transport is one of the various modes of transportation in the world, within the country, there are four airports for which some of which serve International purposes, and some to are used internally. Among these airports are the Kotoka International Airport(KIA), Kumasi Airport, Tamale Airport, and Sunyani Airport as well. Starbow was among the airlines that were running from Accra to Sunyani and vice versa. But for this time, we are expecting other airlines to operate with Starbow. If you haven’t seen the current pictures of the newly upgraded Sunyani airport, then you are fortunate to be here. Take your time and scroll to the end as I’m going to give you some images of the airport before, during and after the renovation.
Among these aforementioned airports in the country, only the Kotoka International airport(KIA) is notable for international activities while the rest are used to carry passengers within the country, like moving from Kumasi to Accra, Sunyani to Accra, and vice versa. It has been quite a long time since the Sunyani Airport has not been in its capacity of operation and this was a result of some ongoing activities to add and expand it to meet the standard. It will be recalled that the Sunyani Airport was temporarily shut down due to the extent of visible deterioration of the airfield.
According to Ghana airport, “The scope of work includes rehabilitation/reconstruction and extension of the existing runway, rehabilitation of existing taxi link, rehabilitation, and upgrade of the existing apron, resurfacing of internal roads, rehabilitation, and remodeling of the existing terminal building to make space for all necessary terminal facilitation”. Citizens of the region and the chief himself have expressed immense gratitude to the nation’s president for this special gift.
If you are eagerly waiting to fly to Sunyani, don’t worry much, the data gathered shows that the project which were undertaken by the authorities have been completed and very soon flights are expected to fly as often as expected to Sunyani. I know that you can’t wait to see airlines flying frequently to Sunyani and how willing you are to board one to either Accra or Kumasi.
