Deplorable roads are one of the big problems we are facing as a country. There have been numerous demonstrations against the government to fix bad roads. The latest protest against the government to fix deplorable roads has been hinted at by residents of Tefle, a community in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The residents have served notice that they would be marching to Accra to demand that government fixes roads in the district. They however gave the government up to the end of the year to construct better roads for them else their intended protest will come on live and coloured.
According to one resident, someone’s legs were broken because a driver was trying to swerve through a pothole. The residents claim that the Assembly Member promised the entire community that the road will be fixed within six months but it is one and a half years now since he made that promise. For them, it is so bad that they cannot tolerate the dust anymore.
