A match between Morocco and Ghana Under 17 Women teams was held to decide World Cup Qualifiers. In the first leg which was played in Ghana, the Black Maidens won 2 goals to nil and the Moroccan coach blamed it on the nature of the pitch. Morocco refused to stream the match against Ghana in Rabat today.
Today in Rabat for the second leg it could not be denied that Morocco was using underhand methods in order to secure their ticket to the Under 17 World Cup.
They quarantined most of the defenders of the team as their doctors diagnosed them to be infected with Covid 19 even though the team had been checked here in Ghana and there were no faults. They also made unusual checks to confirm the of the women. During the first half of the match, three yellow cards were handed out by the referee and one was given to Comfort Yeboah who did nothing wrong.
At the end of the first half, the Black Maidens were forced to stay outside as their dressing room had been sprayed with chemicals.
During the second half of the match, Stell Nyamekye was fouled in the penalty box but the referee asked for the match to be continued. That match ended in 2 goals to nil in favor of Morocco and had to be sent to penalties. The goalkeeper of Ghana saved a penalty kick but the referee said she moved so the penalty had to be retaken. The match ended in 4 goals to 2 at penalties in favor of Morocco. Football is supposed to be played fairly but this match showed how far people could go in the pursuit of a win.
