It is about time flooding issues are provided the necessary attention and most legislators and government agencies must not rest until the menace is curbed due to the accompanying disasters.
Dr. Kwamena Nyarku Mintah is the Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast North constituency. During the flooding situation, he went around with a delegation to receive first hand information about the situation and to discuss the solutions with his MCE and other engineers.
He asked state institutions such as the Cape Coast assembly to do their work judiciously whilst reclaiming of water lands should cease for such areas to act as reservoir for the rain water. He requested that government institutions responsible for disilting gutters should do so without failure .
He also mentioned that private institutions such as zoomlion should provide their services perfectly whilst picking up dustbins on time .
Many Ghanaians have applauded the MP for doing well for his constituency and have appreciated him for justifying his academic credentials as a PHD holder.
It is said that ,good works must be appreciated and so it is well deserved to give Dr. Mintah Nyarku praises for his good work.
Some Ghanaians after applauding the MP , have also asked him to check permits of the residents as well as inspect the available drainage system in his constituency.
Some reactions have also been concerned about his safety and have questioned why he was walking in the flood when there was a possibility of crocodiles in the water.
In fact , flooding issues have caused the nation billions of dollars due to the irreparable damages that come with it.
It is not surprising that the President of Ghana has issued strong directives to stop the flooding situation in Ghana.
