A lady called Barikisu from Sunyani was in a relationship with her boyfriend named Prince in 2017, but the man used to beat her on daily basis. One day another man called Alfred Yeboah came to rescue her whiles Prince was beating her. He sent her to his house and gave her water to bathe but he slept with her that night after both of them got drunk. She quit her relationship with Prince and didn’t go to his house again after the incident happened
Months later, she found out that she is pregnant, Alfred accepted to take the responsibility as a father and they started dating but another woman came who was pregnant came to visit Alfred. The man lied to her that, that woman was pregnant before he met her that day. The lady said she was staying in the same house with him but after he found out that he is pregnant, he started behaving unusually.
He no more provides her with money and food. She then moved to stay with her friend but still, Alfred didn’t take care of her. She informed his father but he revealed to her that his son is not having good behaviour so he can’t advised him to cater for her. She later summoned him to the Social Welfare for not taking care of her but Alfred told them that another woman too is pregnant for him so he can only give her GHC50 every month.
Fortunately for her, she met Prince who helped her by supporting her financially till she gave birth. After she gave birth, Alfred sent her money to take care of the child. Four months later, he came to visit her and he tried to sleep with her again but this time around, she didn’t allow him because of what he did to her. Alfred got angry and left her house, one month later he called to inform her that he wants to name the child after his pastor.
Barikisu said she agreed with him and they went to do the naming ceremony without her family members. The pastor gave them GHC200 but Alfred shared it with her and pleaded with her to accept him back. The lady forgive him and they started dating again, she continued that her boyfriend used to visit her and sleep with her but will give her only GHC20. She realized that he will not help her in life, she then sent her child to stay with her mother but the baby fell sick and she went for him again.
The lady again said due to the nature of the work she has been doing, she sent her child to her brother’s wife to take care of her whilst she goes to work. One day, Alfred called to tell her that their child will die one day, she too told her that the child will never die but he again told her the following day if the child dies whom will she blame for his death but she didn’t give him any tangible reply. She continued that although she has dated multiply men none of them treats her in a bad way as Alfred is doing, he doesn’t provide anything for the child.
