The Presidential Candidate of the United Progressive Party (Upp), Mr Akwasi Addai Odike has described the alleged claim been made within the corridors of the New Patriotic Party (Npp) that the party will ‘break the 8’ is a wrongful perceptive that cannot happened.
Speaking to the correspondent, Odike alleged that the party’s over ambitious conception that the party stands the chance to win power in the 2024 general elections is false as they have no proof to back the claim.
According to the Upp leader since the Npp wrestled power from the opposition Ndc in 2016 nothing fruitful has allegedly been seen as Ghanaians continue to complain about hardships.
Mr Akwasi Addai Odike indicated that the ruling Npp government though continue to claim to have come out with flagship policies that have been making impact on the citizens, critical probe has it that the policies are ineffective.
He cited the free senior high school concept which he alleged, has bedeviled with lot of challenges, though it is still functioning, the Nabco policy which is currently on the verge of collapse, the alleged fuel crisis that have compelled transporters to go on periodic strikes.
Odike also mentioned the Npp-led Nana Akuffo Addo’s policies on one district, one factory, dam and food security and asked if such policies are working up to expectations why Ghanaians are still complaining about hunger and poverty.
The Upp leader alleged that government policies tend to be ineffective on daily basis to such an extent that the challenges that confront the country are hardly controlled.
Clearly Ghanaians have lost confidence and trust in the government because of the unprecedented hardships confronting the economy, Odike alleged.
Odike intimated that what beats his imagination and differs in opinion is the manner on why government fails to make reviews on policies and make amendment for the sake of economic development.
With these alleged lapses in governance coupled with economic problems, how can Npp catch or attract the attention of Ghanaians to vote them back into power in the 2014 general elections.
Touching about the important role reviews play to succeed in every efforts, Odike referred government and for that matter supporters of the Npp to the creation where God reviewed all what He did in His creation for six days and took to rest on the seventh day after He saw that all what He did were perfect.
I still share different idea for the Npp claim that the party can win a credible elections in 2024 whereas its leadership lacks the simple definition of policy reviews to ran an effective economy, Akwasi Addai Odike alleged.
