Mention My Name When You Talk About Afrobeats Greats Like Kuame, KiDi, Others

Budding musician Festus Anderson Eckow Baidoo known professionally as Eckow Hunter has revealed that a list of Afrobeats superstars in Ghana is not complete without his name.

Sounding overly confident in his abilities in a fresh interview on BTM Afrika, the budding artiste said his unique style instantly qualifies him to be in the same bracket as Kuame Eugene, Kelvyn Boy, KiDi and a host of others who are doing well with the now dominant genre.

The musician who started as a rapper before he transitioned into a vocal powerhouse had this to say;

I know I can’t be left out when it comes to Afrobeats. I’m definitely one of the solid pillars when the Afrobeats discussion comes up so I’m pleading with Ghanaians not to sleep on my talent. We want to take Ghana high.

In other showbiz news worth reading, Rapper Captain Planet has revealed how he and other local artistes were sacked like goats from backstage to make way for superstar Jay Z to perform back in 2016.

The American rapper who was then in his prime (he still remains an iconic figure in Hiphop) 14-years ago headlined a major concert in Accra which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The concert was very successful and while shrouded in nostalgia, Ghanaian Twitter influencer Kaly Jay shared a throwback video of Jay Z’s performance in a recent post online.

As soon as Planet saw the post, he hit the comment section to reveal how he and other GH artistes who were then dominating the mainstream were asked to leave for Jay Z to monopolise the concert as the headliner that he was.
