The Black Star’s coach, Otto Addo has stepped in the defence of forward, Jordan Ayew after some questions were made about his goal scoring drought for team.
Although Jordan Ayew is only second to his brother Andre Ayew in the list of players with the most goals and appearances for the national team in the recently – named squad, the forward is yet score a goal in an entire calendar year for Ghana. Jordan’s last goal was in March 2021 when Ghana played against São Tomé and Príncipe.
The match between Ghana and Madagascar on Wednesday night was very impressive on the part of Jordan as he really displayed good chances creating opportunities for his teammates and giving Ghana’s opponents lots of problems. According to Otto Addi Jordan deserved his place in the starting lineup.
Otto Addo;
“The players who started [against Madagascar] deserved to do so, Jordan [Ayew]. Jordan had good training sessions and he created some chances [during the game]. He himself had some chances; the [Madagascar] goalkeeper had an excellent day,” the Black Stars boss said”.
He further said when the Premier League is closely monitored, Jordan scores sometimes and his last goal was probably three weeks ago and It’s not a big problem if somebody doesn’t score.
