NPP national championship race: Asabee lunches campaign, promises to unite party for victory 2024

An aspiring candidate for the national chairmanship position of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP Stephen Asamoah Boateng, (Asabee), has lunched his campaign in Accra.

The former MP has promised to unite the party towards winning the next general elections in Ghana in 2024.

Mr Asamoah Boateng believes he is in line to win the contest coming up next month having toured the country extensively to canvas for votes.

The NPP will go to the polls to elect new national officers for the party in July for a new four-year term having concluded polling station, constituency and regional elections already.

Asabeee is facing a challenge for the position from Messrs Stephen Ntim, current treasurer of the party, Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah and former MP Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Ekumfi among others.

Mr Asamoah Boateng believes he is well suited for the position having been in frontline politics for close to four decades.

The NPP, he said, needs an experienced character like him to lead the party in the next general elections which will be a test of their ability to win in the face of expected strong opposition from the NDC.

“I am a unifier and I am going to bring on board all within the party from far and near to enable us win the next national polls”, he said.

The national executive elections of the NPP is scheduled to come off between July 14-16, 2022 and, it will be supervised by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
