Leader Of The United Progresive Party Declares Intention To Merge With Ndc To Remove Npp From Power

The leader of the United Progressive Party (Upp),Mr Akwasi Addai Odike has disclosed that he is ready to go into alliance with the opposition National Democratic Congress to wristle power from the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking to the Corresppndent in an interview, Odike assigned his reasons to the hardships Ghanaians are undergoing through and the need for change in governance to stabilize the economy.

According to him the Ndc is the only biggest opposition party in the country which can push out the Npp from the scene, hence he believes that if he merges his political party with the Ndc, winning elections in 2024 would be easier.

The Upp leader observed that if one takes the economic situation of the country into consideration, all the small parties should have come into alliance with the Ndc to remove the ruling Npp from power.

Stressing that since some of these small political parties allegedly flirt with the ruling party it will be difficult for them to accept alliance deal, though they are aware about what is happening in the country.

I am ready for alliance with the Ndc and help to embark on a positive campaign especially in the Ashanti region to ensure electoral victory, Odike assured

Adding that his plans are far advanced to meet the executive members of the Ndc for official discussions.

2024 will witness an unprecedented electoral victory through effective alliance deal Odike underscored, and called on Ghanaians to rally behind him to bring good news if the alliance agreement comes to reality.

Stay tuned.
