There have been some interesting statistics recorded in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, GPL as the season heads to a close.
After Matchday 31, Asante Kotoko leads the standing by nine points and, they will be declared winners of the campaign if they avoid defeat at Obuasi against AshGold in their outstanding fixture tomorrow.
Elsewhere, their Cameroonian import Frank Etouga Mbella leads the scorers chat with 20 goals, one goal ahead of Yaw Annor of AshantiGold SC with Bright Adjei of Aduana FC and Bechem United’s Augustine Okrah on 14 and 13 goals respectively with three matches to end the campaign.
On the MVP awards chat, Yaw Annor has won the most, seven followed by Konadu Yiadom of WAFA, Frank Etouga Mbella, Bright Adjei and Legon Cities Jonah Attuquaye who have all won six MVP awards each.
Augustine Frimpong of RTU and Mawuli Wayo of king Faisal Babes have provided the most assists, seven each, to lead that chat and, they will look to build on this for the reminder of the campaign.
Salifu Ibrahim of Hearts of Oak, Justice Anane of Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko’s Imoro Ibrahim have six assists each with Georges Mfegue of Kotoko on five.
All these statistics can be bettered as the season draws to a close with the competition expected to continue this weekend with the Matchday 32 fixtures across all centres nationwide.
