African cup of Nations qualifiers: Angola sends strong message to Ghana black stars

Angola host central African Republic at the estadio II de November (Luanda) this afternoon to start their campaign for the African cup of Nations qualifiers, Ivory coast 2023.

Angola is drawn in group E with central African Republic, Madagascar and four time champions of Africa Ghana.

Coach Pedro Goncalves of Angola paraded a strong side in a 4-1-4-1 formation with Valencia striker Helder Costa leading the attack as the main man upfront.

Central Africa on the other hand set up in a 4-2-3-1, a more defensive formation.

Angola started the first half very well with a lot of possession of the ball but could not break the defence of the visitor’s.

32 minutes after the kickoff, Samuel Nlend receive a pass from Thomas Pirioua to put the visitors into the lead.

Angola came into the game very strongly in the second half and was awarded a penalty just after 13 minutes but midfielder Fresh failed to put the palancas Negras on level.

The Angola’s kept their composure in the game and in the 72nd minute, M’bala Nzola of spezia came in from the bench to give them the equaliser. 4 minutes later, Dala Gelson put the home team Infront with a clinical finish inside the box.

Angola won the the game 2-1 and top group E with 3 points +1 goal.
