Woman Reveals Why She Left Her Husband In Italy And Relocated To Germany With Kids

Germany based Ghanaian Abena Marfo has disclosed that she had to relocate to Germany because there were fewer jobs for women in Italy, especially those of colour.

In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Abena mentioned that schooling in Italy with the knowledge of the Italian language does not guarantee a secure job. As a result, she had to leave behind her family for job opportunities in Germany.

“We agreed for me to come here because the crisis was ongoing in Italy at the time. There were very few jobs available in Italy for women, especially blacks.

In Germany, they don’t mind your race, as long as you are qualified for the job. Some companies may even ask for the experience for a cleaning position in Italy,” she said.

Moreover, Abena indicated that she had to learn Dutch before getting a job.

“There are many job opportunities in Germany. It all depends on the individual, no matter your race. But with Italy, it is tough. Also, the government supports mothers. Italy doesn’t have that,” Abena added.

Speaking on the cost of living, Mrs Marfo disclosed that it is relatively high compared to Italy. She believes it is because of the support the citizens receive from the German government.
