A video spotted on social media captured a young lady being publicly humiliated, lashed, and brutalized by her community in the Upper West Region, Wa.
She received this public embarrassment as penance for an improper or indecent video she recorded that went viral in the community. The lady was tied to a pole and whipped by some young men at the Wa Naa’s Palace in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
However, a lot of people were displeased upon seeing the video on social media. Some even suggested that the Ghana Police Service take charge of the situation and arrest the lady’s perpetrators. Others called on the Gender Ministry of Ghana because they didn’t understand why the lady faced punishment but the guy in the supposed video roamed scotfree. A few folks opined that the public humiliation of the lady was barbaric and should not be encouraged.Â
