Veteran pollster, Ben Ephson was in the news over the weekend after one of his much anticipated predictions failed to materialize. The Daily Dispatch newspaper managing editor who has a record in making election predictions had given the supporters of Wontumi a huge scare when he had predicted that Antwi Boasiako popularly called Chairman Wontumi will lose his Ashanti Regional Chairman seat of the NPP.
In the end, Chairman Wontumi ended up retaining his seat after surviving a scare from his biggest rival Odeneho. Ben Ephson has made another prediction when he joined TV3’s New Day show today. His comments haven’t pleased many NPP supporters who wonder why the editor still feels he has the credibility to make predictions after his failed Wontumi predictions.
Mr. Ephson had maintained that Kennedy Agyapong holds an advantage if he goes head to head against Alan Kyerematen in the NPP flagbearer race. He explained that the Assin Central MP is more popular within the party. He added that if Alan had entered Parliament as Kennedy had entered he would have had a head start but this isn’t the case.
