The recent circulating news that has undoubtedly caused a massive stir, debates, and arguments across all social media platforms was when the speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin was finally vindicated again over his “parliament is broke” comment in the house that raised massive concerns amongst Ghanaians.
Speaking in a recent interview on JoyNews, the minority chief whip, Honorable Muntaka Mubarak unexpectedly revealed that, the speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin was right in terms of the financial state of parliament under the incumbent President, Nana Akufo Addo government and hence the house is on the verge of financial collapse.
“We are the principal officers of the house and I am telling you that even what they claim to have released is part of the arrears of 2021. For 2022, party form salaries, the government hasn’t released money to parliament; not even a dime. That is why ECG came to disconnect our electricity supply. Parliament is on the verge of financial collapse. If I ever become the speaker, one thing I can guarantee is that I would run the house like the commons”, Honorable Muntaka Mubarak emphatically revealed.
