About five Electoral Commission (EC) officials have been spotted running for their lives after a group decided to chase them out of a room. According to the person who posted the video on social media, this group is believed to be the Invisible Forces group belonging to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). Watching the video carefully, you can see that the group are in a red shirt while the EC officials are also in their usual outfit.
One cannot tell what happened but the person who posted this video on Facebook said that there was an NPP congress in the Greater Accra Region early today, Saturday, 28th May 2022. And it appears the EC officials did something that the group didn’t like. As a result of this, the group was spotted furiously chasing these EC officials with chairs at the conference.
There were policemen at the event but they were standing there unconcern while this group chase the EC officials with weapons. It was after the group has thrown the EC officials out of the conference that the policemen were spotted trying to calm the group down. There were a lot of people in the conference room but none of them tried to protect the EC officials.
If they hadn’t run, they would have been hurt by now. Some Ghanaians after coming across this video said that this has always been the legacy of the NPP. They always try to use violence in all elections. If their own internal elections are producing violence and tension, it should tell you that they are capable of anything.
