The Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has sent a strong message to all the 275 members of Parliament. He spoke in a serious and fearful tone. Speaker Bagbin disclosed the unfortunate and current happenings in Parliament which call for alarm. Alban Bagbin explained to the members that the security of Parliament has broken down and from the letters which the Security Minister has sent to him, anything can happen at any time. He cautioned the members of the house to take their security seriously.
“We are not in normal times. And all of you must take your security seriously. Our security machinery is broken down. Even right here in Parliament. When I talk about lack of budget, people try to counter me.”, Alban Bagbin explained.
How true is this? Could it be that Alban Bagbin was only saying this so that the Finance Minister will divert some funds for the running of Parliament? If what Alban Bagbin is saying is true, then it means we are indeed in trouble.
