I Slept In A Kiosk And Did Galamsey For Six Years; A Popular Ghanaian Musician Reveals

Popular Ghanaian gospel musician Isaiah Kwodwo Ampong commonly known as Great Ampong has recently shared his life story upon an interview with Kingdom FM.

Ampong has been in the music industry since 1996 and had come out with several songs, famous among them are Jordan, Osofoo Kasa and others. In recent times he has teamed up with some past contestants of Ghana’s hit singing competition, Mentor Isaac the Showboy, Erico, and Cee to produce mega gospel hits.

The  award winning gospel musician Isaiah Kwodwo Ampong upon an interview with Kingdom FM has the hustle he went through during the early days in Tarkwa

He revealed that, he did illegal mining for 6 years  in his early life in Tarkwa and sold biscuit at Accra Odokor in Traffic  before he was able to rise to become a gospel musician.

“I worked at galamsey site for about 6 years and slept in a kiosk for 6 years and I later relocated to a church auditorium in Accra where I slept on the pulpit for about 3 years. I want to tell the youth not to be greedy but they should be prayerful and rely on God’s time”. He told Accra Based Kingdom FM.
