Black Sherif has clarified in a new interview why his lyrics are woven around the loom of despondency and laden with so much emotions.
In his words, there’s nothing to be happy about in life which is why life should be tacked with all seriousness. He revealed that his songs mirror what a lot of youth are going through evidenced in the messages he has been receiving from most of them about the impact of the songs in their lives.
He’s quoted as saying;
It’s a basic reality everyone in the country knows. It’s not easy to make it here in Ghana. There’s nothing to smile about in this life so I might as well just sad up. I cannot be laughing to the mandem when there’s nothing to be happy about.
