This second session of Parliament promises to be a very interesting one. Today, Haruna Iddrisu, the minority leader who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Tamale South constituency, touched on some important issues that he stated that the majority caucus must get ready for in the upcoming weeks. Haruna Iddrisu stressed that Parliament, must treat as a matter of urgency, the issue of grabbing of portions of land in the Achimota forest by government officials and also the Agyapa deal.
Haruna Iddrisu later spoke about the issue of payroll which the Speaker of Parliament touched on. Haruna Iddrisu explained that he has serious shreds of evidence to prove that he was underpaid and overpaid (salary) on several occasions in this parliament.
“I have pieces of evidence that I was underpaid and overpaid. Mr. Clerk, you must give me those pieces of evidence because this is serious. And I will bring it up. I will want to understand that this is an administrative error.”, he explained on the floor.
