NDC Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George has commented that, he will be extremely disappointed in the chiefs, elders and leaders of Ga State if they don’t speak up on the ongoing Achimota Forest brouhaha.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 23rd May 2022, he wrote;
“I would be extremely disappointed if the Chiefs, Elders and Leaders of the Ga State do not speak up before end of week! How many of them can own 1sqm of land in Sakra Woonoo?Â
Where is the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs? Has the Ga Mantse travelled or gone out of coverage area? Ga Wulomei? Ga-Dangme Youth Associations? For how long would this rape and loot go on and you loose your voices and keep mute? “
As for this one, Sam George would not be the one to lead. Our Elders must show why the pubic hair cannot teach the hair on the head the lessons of life in this case. Arise and show that the real interests of the Ga State mean something to you! Sam George added.
His comments comes as a background to the ongoing Achimota Forest brouhaha. The government of Ghana said it has declassified the forest reserve and giving part to Owoo Family who claims to be owners of the land. As Ghanaians were thrown into pandemonium, NPP’s late Sir John who passed away in 2020, WILL pooped up.
In the WILL, it is stated that he has given some acres of lands in the Achimota forest to some of his family members. This has caused many reactions as people are questioning whether the forest was already sold in 2020 before it’s declassification in 2022.
