Discussions on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana got to a feisty end as the panelists on the show clashed over the PPA boss scandal. Yesterday the Special Prosecutor threw charges at the former PPA boss. It can be recalled that after a Manasseh Azure expose, President Akufo-Add called on Adjenim Boateng Adjei to step down for further investigations.
Former Ghana Free Zones boss under the erstwhile NDC government, Kojo Twum Boafo noted that Adjenim Boateng charges are characteristics the Akufo-Addo government. He explained that even though the victim’s accounts were frozen, monies have still vanished in his accounts. He bemoaned the thievery that is going on and opined that he doesn’t see much happening from this case.
His co panelist, Sylvester Tetteh didn’t take lightly to this. According to him until the former Public Procurement Authority boss was given a fair trial one cannot conclude that he stole from the coffers of government. He referred to another scandal that Twum Boafo was involved in and averred that despite the investigations that went on people didn’t refer to him as a thief. This apparently infuriated Kojo Twum who felt his personality was being attacked.
Kojo called on Sylvester to speak to the matters at hand and not discuss another investigation. Kojo explained that during his investigation he visited EOCO over 33 times and supported the investigation, something that Adjenim Boateng is unable to do. This answer wasn’t enough as Sylvester boldly told Kojo to stay off calling Adjenim Boateng names because it is on record that he was also investigated for crimes related to thievery.
