Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and three other former Black Stars players are eying to play in the Ghana Premier League, GPL next season.
Jerry Akaminko, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu and Afriyie Acquah, have all expressed their readiness to feature in the Elite Division next season as they seek to return to the field.
All four players are currently free agents and can sign for a club of their choice if negotiations go well.
With the current GPL season nearing an end, the aforementioned players will be free to join any side in the league before the start of the next campaign.
Ironically, all four players have been linked with current GPL leaders Asante Kotoko and, all have expressed their willingness to play if they are approached by the Porcupines.
Record Ghana scorer Asamoah Gyan said he will like to play for the club he grew up supporting and, this has also been reiterated by Agyeman Badu who played for the Porcupines before leaving for Europe.
Akaminko who played on the local scene for Kpando Heart of Lions before his European adventure, has also been linked with Accra Hearts of Oak after ending his stay with clubs outside Ghana.
Afriyie Acquah last played in the Arab world and said, he will like to taste the action on the local scene as he left Ghana in his teens to Italy where he mostly made his name.
The news of these former internationals willing to play in the GPL will be welcome news for the league and, it comes in the wake of two former Ghana internationals Sulley Ali Muntari and Samuel Inkoom joining the Phobians.
Their performances for Accra Hearts of Oak has been on the high since they joined the capital and, this has given hope to their former colleagues in the national team that they can play in the GPL and be successful.
It is also being reported that other former Ghana internationals are harbouring hopes of playing in the league next season, and, this could only be good news for the competition as the young ones can tap into their experience to horn their talents to greater heights.
