Sometimes it is obvious when a partner is eager to get married. They talk about your future together as a couple openly and honestly. Whiles all these signs are evident it also extremely important to know the health status of your partner before you get married.

Both you and your future spouse should get tested. There are essentially nine medical tests that a couple should undergo before getting married.

Here are the pre wedding medical test for couples before marriage;

1. Genotype Test:

Genotype determines the hereditary potentials and limitations of an individual from embryonic formation through adulthood. The test let couple know if they are compatible.

2. Blood Group:

Couples could have difficulty during pregnancy if their blood groups are not compatible. It should be ensured that the Rh factor of both the partners is the same or in a compatible range.

3. HIV:

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) causes AIDS and weakens the body’s ability to fight infections. You should ensure that neither you nor your partner is HIV positive before you decide to get married.

4. Hepatitis B and C:

The test through a hepatitis virus panel helps to detect current or past infection by hepatitis A, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C in the blood.

5. STD:

People getting married should also be tested for STDs — sexually transmitted diseases. Even if one of the partners has an STD, it can make working the marriage very difficult.

6. Fertility Test:

Both partners should undergo an infertility test before their marriage. In men, it helps in checking the health of sperm, and the sperm count as well. Women can also become clear if they will face any problem in conceiving or not.

7. Possible Chronic Genetic Disorder:

Before marriage, both the partners should have their genetic tests done to know if they have inherited or had the potential to inherit any illness.

8. Thalassemia Test:

9. Mental Health Assessment:

The mental well-being of both couples needs to be rigorously assessed to know how sound couples are, this helps in averting any further challenges that may arise.

It will be prudent not to just waste time on pre wedding pictures only but get busy in also knowing the health status of your partner.
