Association of African Election Authorities Holds 1st Meeting Since COVID-19 Pandemic | Politics

The Association of African Election Authorities have held its first meeting since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the African continent.

The Association met at their Secretariat at the head office of the Electoral Commision (EC) of Ghana in Accra on Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13, 2022.

The Association, during the meeting, resolved to improve their performance in achieving successful elections in Africa.

“We the members of Executive Committee of the AAEA remain committed to the professional, free and fair conduct of elections on the continent”, a statement issued by the Association read.

The Association of African Election Authorities, AAEA, is a platform that brings together heads of the Election Management Bodies in Africa to dialogue, share experiences, set standards and exchange lessons and best practices in election management.
