Let’s Demonstrate Attitudes To Reflect Our Call As Pastors – Bishop Sarpong

The Chairman of the Council Of Bishops & Apostles Ghana (COBAG) Bishop Dr. Solomon Osei Sarpong has observed that in order for pastors to gain public confidence and trust, the clergy needs to demonstrate an exemplary lives to enhance their calls as representatives of God.

Bishop Sarpong noted that due to alleged bad conduct some pastors usually exhibit, the respect and dignity attached to the noble profession of the priesthood have been lowered to the background in this end time in the society.

In an interview with the Content Writer, King Amoah in Kumasi over the weekend, Bishop Sarpong who also doubles as the Founder and General Overseer of the Active Chapel International (ACI) hinted that for time immemorial, Christianity has been under attack. 

He linked the attacks to a Satanic Angel he named as ” ASAZEL” who allegedly have unlimited spiritual influence to work through people against Christianity.

This representative Angle of Satan, the man of God reiterated has allegedly succeeded to manipulated many pastors who use vulgar languages to scar people from worshiping God.

Adding that by the alleged bad deeds of these pastors they tend to destroy their fellow pastors as a result of jealousy, hatred among other unsubstantiative reasons.

Bishop Sarpong who is also a popular and celebrated gospel musician of “Beebia Agye Bum” fame expressed worry about the trend in which Christianity is currently shaking from its foundation, and posing as a threat in the priesthood in the society.

According to the clergy it is now time pastors should stop attacking or destroying each other for no apparent reasons so that the calls could reflect and yield positive results to glorify God in the society.

The Bishop pointed out that if the alleged hatred and destructive tactics continue to manifest itself in the Christianity, then what would be the fate of Christians in the next twenty years.

As pastors it is our collective mandate to spread the word of God to accomplish the Great Commission, the humble servant of God hinted.

And stressed the need for the latter days pastors to emulate the respect, humility and hard work some renowned Bishops like Agyin Assare, Duncan Williams, late Prophet Amoako among others have been showing to sustain the image of the priesthood in the past years.

On the occasion the Bishop took the opportunity to advise pastors to encourage and support the talented youth in the churches especially the gospel singers to realize their destinies since in his view gospel singers also contribute and use their songs to win souls for Christ.
