Brighton and Hove Albion mentor Graham Potter has directed Tariq Lamptey to lean on his instinct while considering the choice about whether to migrate from England to Ghana.
Chris Hughton, Black Stars specialized consultant and previous Brighton mentor, needs Lamptey to change his public loyalty before the competition.
The Brighton right-back has addressed England, his home country, at a few levels beneath senior, two appearances for the under-21s.
Potter expressed: “No matter what Tariq’s circumstance, playing in a World Cup will be awesome for any player. That is something for him to consider, however it’s more about where he feels in his heart he ought to play. That really depends on Tariq, I’ll uphold anything choice he makes.”
Lamptey, who joined Brighton from Chelsea in January 2020, is a Ghanaian resident through his folks.
Potter added: “Clearly, I’ve never needed to contemplate that choice. I might want to believe it’s more about how he feels as far as who he needs to address. There will be a family thought.
