On Thursday, May 12, a freight truck carrying eggs caught fire on the main Achimota-Pokuase highway.
The event caused considerable traffic congestion on the major and side roads heading to Nsawam.
To prevent further automobiles from entering the jam, security authorities closed the major road at Achimota-Neoplan.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) dispatched two fire tenders to put out the fire.
The cause of the incident is currently unknown, since the Fire Department has yet to provide an update on the situation.
