Road accidents continue to claim lives on our roads. Although the government through Road Safety Commission and the various ministries are doing everything possible to avert this menace, the situation seem far from over as hundreds continue to die on our roads. The irony is that more lives are lost on good roads compared to the bad ones.
Information received by CitizenOne through GBC reporter David Jerry Bawanke is that six students have unfortunately been killed in Ankaase in the Krachi West Municipality through road accident.
According to the report, the students were returning from school on Wednesday in a number of seven when a truck ran into the mini bus the students were in, killing six on the spot. It is believed that the truck burst tyre leading to the unfortunate incident. The only survivor is however battling for his life in the Karachi East Municipal hospital, the report added.
The report added that the nearby community members arrested the truck driver and attempted to lynch him. But a timely intervention by the police saved him.
The bodies have been deposited in the mortuary pending further investigation by the police. CitizenOne is closely monitoring the situation and will update followers in due course. Meanwhile you can like and share this story after commenting on it.
