In as much as he won the Songwriter of the Year award, Fameye has lamented that he would have liked to have been awarded as the Record of the Year.
Report from the camp of Fameye suggest that, winning the Songwriter of the Year reveals to the quality of his work, but the ultimate prize is the Record of the Year. “I was actually looking out for the Record of the Year for my producer to get the Audio Producer of the Year. But consequentially, I had to lose that, which is fine. But I am kinda disappointed because I would have liked that one. I feel taking the Record of the Year would have been the ultimate,” he made this assertion during an interview granted with TV3.
Aside his disappointment, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 23 Songwriter of the Year, who broke Kofi Kinaata’s winning streak in the category, points out how his award identified the passion behind his craftsmanship.
“Being the songwriter, the whole awards for me, that is the ultimate because it is that technical. So for me to be the Songwriter of the Year should tell you how technical and serious, and passionate I am about my music career. And so for me, I believe I am the Artiste of the Year.”
