“Poor Preparation Cost The Black Satellites” – Ed-Ghana Forward

Ex-Ghana international, Odartey Lamptey has said that preparation has always been a problem for the youth and junior national teams.

His comments come following Black Satellites 2-0 opening Group B loss to Nigeria in the WAFU ZONE B tournament in Niger. The former Anderlecht forward spoke to Gold Power Sports. “Preparation has always been a problem for Ghana since I stopped playing for the national team. “I think the early days that there was no money in football that’s when Ghana will prepare well.

“That was my time during the U-17, U-20, we had time to prepare but now a days preparation has been a problem for our junior teams. “Maybe let’s say the seniors have 80-90% of preparation so preparation has been a problem for us.

“But then I’m sure if we are able to correct those things very well, we won’t be talking about issues like these.” Odartey Lamptey told Radio Gold Sports. The Black Satellites, who won the tournament last year, will now face another West African side, Burkina Faso in the second group game to stand a chance of progressing from Group B.
