The Ghana Premier League, GPL takes a break this weekend to make way for the last four encounters in the knock out competition to be cleared.
Holders Accra Hearts of Oak will contest the first semi-final game on Saturday afternoon against Dreams FC with the other semi-final tie set to come off on Sunday when Bechem United and Aduana FC go head-to-head.
Hearts of Oak will continue with the defence of the MTN FA Cup competition when they play Dreams FC at the El-Wak Military Sports Stadium at Cantonments in Accra.
The Phobians will look to make it to a second successive Cup final as they go into this contest in the capital at the weekend.
They will be favourites to win this encounter against a Dreams FC side that is on poor form at the moment as they hover just above the relegation zone in the ongoing GPL competition.
Hearts of Oak won the most recent fixture between these sides a couple of weeks ago 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the GPL, and, they will be the odds on favourites to win this tie to book a place in the final of the competition.
Dreams FC, will however be expected to put out a fight as they seek to win a first major trophy on the Ghanaian scene but, their last few performances has not been that impressive and, Hearts of Oak should be able to sail through comfortably at the end of this game.
The other semi-final game will come off at the Golden City Park, Berekum and, this is expected to be a closely fought affair on Sunday afternoon.
Bechem United are chasing a second victory in this competition and, they believe their performance this season should merit that accolade.
They are second on the GPL table behind leaders Asante Kotoko who lead the pack by nine points with six matches to end the campaign.
United will feel this is an opportunity to earn silverware this season as the league trophy seems to be heading to Kumasi.
They have had the better of the exchanges against Aduana FC this season, and, they will look to count on this to secure passage to the grand finale of the competition.
Aduana FC will have something to say about this as they have ambition of their own in this competition, seeking to win it for the first time.
They are two-times GPL champions and, adding the Knock Out trophy to their collection is something they will fight for.
It therefore promises to be an enthralling encounter at the Golden City Park, Berekum on Sunday with the stakes very high for both of these sides.
