In 2015, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the then running mate to candidate Akufo-Addo boldly rubbished the achievements of the then President, John Dramani Mahama.
While speaking at a gathering by the New Patriotic Party in November 2015, Dr. Bawumia revealed that the Mahama government had more revenue but failed to achieve a lot for the country.
” Under the leadership of President Kuffour, we had just 20 billion Ghana cedis from taxes and loans but Ghana’s economy was transformed from a low-income economy to a middle-income economy. Mahama and the NDC have had 200 billion cedis but very few achievements to show. Even with this money, many of the NDC projects are just artistic impressions. Many of their projects are either overpriced or riddled with çorruption. They need to be voted out.” Bawumia boldly revealed this in 2015.
