Renowned Ghanaian social media influencer, Sneaker Nyame has sparked reactions on social media.
The popular Twitter Influncer today, Sunday, May 8, 2022 took to his official social media page to question why Muslim songs are not nominated in gospel categories in music awards.
“Why say Muslims Demma Songs Ain’t Nominated In gospel category?”, he wrote. This is coming after the just ended Vodafone Ghana Awards 2022 which saw KiDi winning the overall artiste of the year.

Vodafone Ghana Awards which was held for the 23rd time on Saturday, May 7, 2022 over the years has seen no Muslim song or Muslim artiste being nominated in the gospel categories
Again, 3Music Awards which has been held for 5 consecutive times is yet to see a Muslim song or Muslim artiste being nominated in their gospel categories.
In 2022, Ohemaa Mercy’s song, “Ote Me Mu” featuring MOG won best Gospel song of the year at the VGMA and 3Music Awards. Joe Mettle and Celestine Donkor won gospel acts at the VGMA’s and 3Music Awards respectively.
