Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa on Good Morning Ghana has expressed his dissatisfaction and dislike of the attorney general’s behavior and intercept on cases held in court.
Here’s what he said:
The matter I’m about to discuss requires a lot of circumspection because I am one of the plaintiffs in the matter. Haruna Iddrisu and Mahama Ayariga inclusive.
The substantive case is yet to be heard. I must say that the interlocutory injunction we filled was unanimously dismissed.
There have been some fallouts in the ruling of the Supreme Court which I will say is unfortunate.
You have seen the Attorney General hold a press conference in his office. He decided after the ruling of the court to invite the president into his office and what he did was very bizarre.
It has not happened anytime in our history that an Attorney General on record leads a case in representation on the side of the government; thus responding on the side of the state.
He knew the court was yet to delve into the substantive case, look at the merit, and determine the outcome.
He even says Haruna Iddrisu and Mahama Ayariga have gone to court with propaganda.
I remember in the election petition case that woes were sent out that those prosecuting the matter were not to comment.
It’s against the rules and ethics. So how come this attorney general feels he’s above the rules and ethics? He is running everybody down and it is unbelievable.
Can you imagine what would have happened if it was our lawyers who had conducted themselves this way?
How come this attorney general feels so untouchable? As we speak, Dr. Dominic Ayini is having a battle with the court for matters of this nature.
What do you make of Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa’s words?
