Sheriff Mohammed wins Asante Kotoko North America Circles player of the month award for April

Asante Kotoko’s utility player Sheriff Mohammed has won the award as the supporters player of the month for April.

This has been announced by the Asante Kotoko North America Circle 001 supporters group who initiated this award.

Sheriff Mohammed is due to receive GHc2000 and a plague from Circle 001 for his outstanding displays for the Porcupines in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, GPL in the month of April.

The player has been very impressive since he joined Asante Kotoko from DOL outfit Tamale Steadfast FC at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign.

He has been used in various roles by head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum this season as they chase the GPL title.

Sheriff Mohammed can play in midfield and in defence and, he has been one of the most outstanding players in the ongoing competition.

Asante Kotoko will hope he stays fit and healthy for the rest of the campaign as they aim to win the diadem at the end of this season.

The Porcupines lead the standing by nine points from second placed Bechem United with seven matches to end the campaign and, they look the obvious favourites to win the title.

On Sunday, Kotoko will continue with that ambition when they welcome Aduana FC to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in a GPL Matchday 28 fixture.

Coach Ogum will hope Sheriff Mohammed plays a part in this game as they go for the double against a side they defeated 2-0 at Dormaa Ahenkro in the first round of the campaign.
