Oliver Barker – I Will Sue The State For What I Went Through, My Lawyers Are Ready

Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has commented that he will sue the state for the treatment he went through. His comments comes as a background to his claims that, he was tortured when he was arrested on 11th February 2022 for a coup post he shared on Facebook.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 6th May 2022, he wrote;

Neho! If you have been wondering if I will be suing the State for what I went through, … Of course I am. My lawyers have been ready dadaaada. But I wanted our filing of the case to coincide with May 9th.

Because i draw a reservoir of strength from those 126 Ghanaian lives needlessly lost on that day and for which till today no one was held criminally accountable for.

Do I personally consider the Courts, the SC in particular to be a place where Rights are considered sacred and governmental misconduct is treated as abominable as far as our constitutional values are concerned?

Absolutely Not!

In fact even when we establish State misconduct, they are likely going to have their horrible conduct whitewashed or get away with a slap on the wrist.

But I have decided to let posterity be the best judge. I Want history to record our struggle and how we resisted our oppression. I want tomorrow’s generation to know that their fathers (some at least) did not throw their hands in the air and give up. Let’s show tomorrow how we guarded our civil liberties even in times of grave moral decay.

Hopefully when liberation comes. When the New Ghana takes form, they will be appreciative of our sacrifices.

I choose resistance everyday!”.
