Martin Amidu is being remembered today for being a true gentleman. At least that is what many people saw him to be after making unexpected revelations about the sitting government and resigning from post as a special prosecutor. According to him, he was being used as a puppet to cover up illegal dealings of this government. Martin Amidu seems to have gained his peace of mind after leaving office and handing his position over. The corrupt activities that were alleged to have taken place in the Npp have been cloaked by story telling and he said it was time to leave and stop being the puppet he alleged to have been taken for.
The many questions that are being asked is that is the current manifestation of economic mismanagement and allegations against government true? Are these words of Martin Amidu true that he was silenced before he could say anything further? The government is in distress and we are seeing how most government operations seems to be helping no one but a few in the government sector. Martin Amidu was called names and was hooted at. He was at a point embarrassed by people like Kennedy Agyapong for allegedly being diagnosed of mental illness and all of these were not easy for him.
His silence on the current economic issues is enough to tell us that he was not telling lies- says most people who have reacted to the current actions of the current special prosecutor and the attorney general who according to them are fully aware of a smooth and legal operation of government. Was Martin Amidu telling us something with his exit from office as a special prosecutor? Are there more stories cooked up for Ghanaians as politicians continue to enrich themselves? Ghana needs more salvation than it ever has seeing the way people are suffering and forcing their way through earning a cedi in a day.
