Bono Twi Is The Mother Dialect Of The Akan Language – Hon Kwasi Sabi Highlights

Today the executives of the Bono Twi project paid a courtesy call on the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs to highlight on the need to officially document the Bono Twi for academic purposes, posterity sake and the culture of Bono people.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Hon. Kwasi Sabi said Bono Twi is the mother dialect of the Akan Language, but it is unfortunate that Bono Twi is not yet documented, hence, the need for this laudable initiative to save the dialect from extinction.

He added that the Bono Twi Project is legally/duly registered at the Registrar General’s Department of which a certificate of incorporation has been issued.

Since Nananom are the custodians of the land, it is therefore imperative to bring them on board to seek their blessings, guidance and support to make the initiative a success.

The Bono Twi Project Team was led by the Board Chairman, Hon. Williams Kwasi Sabi. Other Board members were Pastor R.R. Yeboah(Vice Chair), Nana Asamoah Kumtwie(Nsesresuhene), Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boamponsem(Krontihene of Sunyani), Nana Akosua Kumi Sasraku Sradaa (Adontehemaa of Aboabo no4) and Rev.Isaac Boaheng. Others were Kwaku Ansu Gyeabour (Founder, Coordinator and Organizer for the project) and Kwadwo Sakyi Akomeah(P.R.O).
