Adehye 94: The Mayors of Okuapemman School feeds less privileged on the streets of Accra on May Day

Adehye 94 also known as ‘The Mayors’, a fraternity of like-minded past students of Okuapemman School, Akropong, Akwapem who completed their 0-Levels in 1994, celebrated May Day with some less privileged children and adults on the streets of Accra in a holiday style.

They feted them on this international holiday by providing food, soft drinks and bottled water to these less privileged persons who least expected this kind of gesture.

This is the second time in three months that ‘The Mayors’ have undertaken this kind gesture after first doing so on St Valentine’s Day this year.

Last Sunday’s program started at the Accra Mall where the Mayors gave away food, soft drinks and water to children and some mother’s on the streets.

The exercise continued around the 37 Military Hospital area in Accra where a similar distribution was made to children and mother’s as well as some adults on the streets.

Similar distributions were shared on the Ring Road and ended at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra to cap off a very successful event.

The items given away by The Mayors included 250 Packs of jollof rice and chicken and 250 packs of kenkey that contained two balls, fried fish, bottled water and soft drinks.

The exercise according to the Convenor of ‘The Mayors’, Komla Mawuena Foli, was to bring joy and happiness into the life’s of those less privileged in society who spend most of their daily routine on the streets and cannot afford decent meals on their own.

Mr Foli added: “We are pleased to put out smiles on the faces of the people on the streets who couldn’t afford decent meals and struggle daily to survive”.

“We particularly thank our friends who believed in the mission and never turned their back on us when we called on them for support”, he said.

“God bless them for helping us celebrate such a day with the less privileged and, we would continue to do our best in changing lives in our society”, he stated.
