26 Percent Of NPP Members Don’t Believe In Breaking The ‘8’ – Research | Politics

A Senior Research Fellow of the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Smart Sarpong has disclosed that 26 percent of NPP members “don’t believe in breaking the 8”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) intends to change the norm, set a new record by handing over to itself in 2025; hence agenda breaking the ‘8’

However, Dr Smart Sarpong contributing to a panel discussion on Kumasi-based Hello FM, said if the NPP is determined to break the 8, they would have to address the concerns of the 26 percent who don’t believe in the agenda no matter how little.

“As of now, about 73 percent of NPP members believe in breaking the 8. There are about 26 percent who don’t believe in it and they have their reasons”

“If a political party wants to break the 8 and 73 percent of their members are hopeful and willing to work towards it, it is good for them. But…”

Some of the reasons for the ’26’ not believing in this agenda according to Dr Sarpong are the “imposition of candidates, negative campaign and so on; they suspect the party has not learned their lessons”
