Potential Ghanaian Players Who May Play At The World Cup and Their Performances

Ghanaian players across the world were engaged in serious action over the weekend. Many of these players will be looking forward to a call up into the senior national team. From the English Premier to the Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1, Bundesliga and the Italian Serie A, the five major leagues in Europe have seen some talented Ghanaian players feature in matches. Aside from the major leagues, there are some others who are also doing so well in other leagues.

1.       Daniel Kofi Kyere

Kofi Kyere plays for ST Pauli in the German Bundesliga. He has played 28 matches and scored 12 goals this season. The midfielder scored a goal for his side this weekend.

2.       Mohammed Salisu

The young defender whose issue became a topic of discussion during the world cup playoffs is a potential player for the stars in Qatar. Salisu, 23, plays for Southampton in the English Premier League. After a little instability in his performance in recent times, he has started picking and he was at his best in their match against Crystal Palace.

3.       Jeffrey Schlupp

This sensational player has somehow been unlucky when it comes to call ups to the national team. Considering his performance at Crystal Palace, he has not had a chance to play for Ghana for a while. It is likely he may join the team in Qatar together with his teammate, Jordan Ayew.

4.       Inaki and Nico Williams

During the African Cup of Nations, these two brothers were expected to play for the senior national team but things couldn’t work out. The William brothers play for Atletic Bilbao in Spain and you will love to see the two play. A lot of Ghanaians cannot wait for the forwards to join the team in Qatar.

5.       Joseph Paintsil  

 Paintsil plays in the Belgian league for Genk. He played 21 minutes over the weekend scoring one goal and giving one assist.
