Ghana international midfielder Baba Iddrisu has donated football items to his first juvenile club in the harbour city of Tema, Arsenal Babies.
Iddrisu, was first scouted as a seven-year old by President of the club Daasebre Adu-Asare and, has now blossom into stardom plying his trade outside the country.
He now plays for Spanish La Liga side Real Mallorca and, has been a constant figure in the Black Stars over the last couple of years.
And in appreciation for how far he has come as a player, Iddrisu has remembered how it all started for him as a footballer at Arsenal Babies.
He donated a set of jerseys with stockings, bibs and other football items to support the club and the little ones aspiring to build a career in the sport.
Daasebre Adu-Asare who also doubles as the Chairman of the Tema Municipal Football Association, TMFA, thanked Baba Iddrisu for the kind gesture and for remembering where he first horned his talents as a footballer.
He tasked other players who came out of Arsenal Babies to emulate this great gesture by Iddrisu Baba as “those who give receives in abundance”.
Over the years, Arsenal Babies has produced some exciting talents on the Ghanaian scene Joe Ansah who played for Ghana at youth and senior level and for Accra Hearts of Oak.
They also produced the likes of Adjah Tetteh who also played for Hearts’ of Oak and Ghana and Michael Tawiah among others.
Current players like Maxwell Baako who played for Asante Kotoko, Kingsley Poku and others who play in Ghana and in the diaspora, also came through the Arsenal Babies production line.
